In his mid-50s, Anil Kapoor is the only actor who is still looking a decade younger and doing lead roles. He feels that the key to being fit is to live a happy and healthy lifestyle, while maintaining a positive attitude in life. While Anil believes that running is important to keep fit, he swears by cycling as the perfect workout. Here the actor shares his fitness mantra. Read on...
“Firstly I would like to wish all the ladies running the DNA iCan Women’s Half Marathon all the best! My workout is simple. I train six days a week with one complete rest day. My workouts change daily to keep the body guessing. That way we maximise the workout. The one constant that does not change is my yoga. I do Bikram yoga.”
“Running is added but not a constant. I do not run for set distances but mix it with body weight exercises. I never just go for a run. Diet is very important. The right food gives me the right fuel. The two go hand-in-hand — working hard and eating right. Man or woman — it is everybody’s God-given right to have a healthy body and mind. I have become aware of my need to adopt a healthy lifestyle since 1994. Fitness became a way of life for me after that. My guru is my next film’s character and what drives me towards the needs of that role. My mantra is: Train hard. Live right.”
“My message to the DNA iCan Women’s Half Marathon runners is either you think you can or you think you can’t but either way you are right! So set the right intention. Good luck!”
