This time Ganesha Chaturthi is special for me and my family because I am getting Bappa in my new house that I have bought in Malad. Like DNA's Eco-Ganesha, I too am very particular about bringing an idol that is eco-friendly and decorating accordingly. That is the best way to celebrate the festival – you keep the tradition and at the same time don't harm the environment.

I keep the idol for one-and-a-half day. It was only when I came to Mumbai to pursue my career in acting that I got to see the fervour with which the festival is celebrated. Mumbai is one festive place where you are bound to fall in love with Ganpati bappa. I had kept a mannat that when my career gets stability I will start bringing Ganesha home. I brought the idol year before last but last year because my grandfather passed away, I did not celebrate. This time I got the idol and hope to do so every year. I think of Ganesha as my friend, a little child and I connect with him. I also love dressing up in traditional finery for the festival. We make different sweets at home, but modak is a must. I pray to Lord Ganesha to keep everyone happy and healthy. I am hoping Bappa will give a new direction to my career and life.
