For one of the shows that will be launched on the upcoming channel & TV, the makers have roped in filmmaker Tigmanshu Dhulia to direct the first look. Called Begusurai, the serial is set in a small town in Bihar, and according to sources, in terms of its look and feel, will be like Sahib Biwi Aur Gangster and Gangs Of Wasseypur. "Tigmanshu was roped in as he is best suited for this genre of depicting the real and rustic India. He has not only directed films like Paan Singh Tomar, Saheb Biwi Aur Gangster that are based in rural India, but as an actor done films like Gangs of Wasseypur and Tevar. He understands the dialect and finer nuances of characters familiar with the Hindi heartland," says the source. Tigmanshu who graduated to films from TV has directed several shows like Just Mohabbat, the miniseries Star Bestsellers and Rajdhani among others. Says Tigmanshu, "Begusurai brings me back to television after a very long time. What is interesting is that TV shows are now being treated as films. The plot of Begusarai was narrated to me like a movie and what really hooked me on was the quirkiness of the characters. My challenge, in directing the first look of the show, was to encapsulate the eccentricities of the characters without any dialogues. That's how we decided to shoot at real locations instead of the set to treat it like a film."
