Her debut film Parichaya may not have done much to push her into the big league, but Sindhu Loknath’s come back film Lifeu Ishtene more than made up for the slow start. While the actor’s girl-next-door looks in the film earned her many a fan, her acting skills left filmmakers queuing up for her dates. And now, not surprisingly, she has bagged a plump role in numero uno director Yograj Bhat’s Drama. “I play a differently-abled girl in the film,” says Sindhu. In this multi-starrer, she is cast opposite Ninasam Satish. And even before wrapping up the shoot for Drama, the actor has bagged another big project— Jai Bajarangabali — in which she is cast opposite Ajay Rao. “I have undergone a make-over for my role in this film. I’ll be seen in a very glamorous avatar as I am playing a girl based in Malaysia. The film, among other things, looks at finding out if a girl who has never stayed in her motherland can relate to its culture and traditions,” says Sindhu. Sandalwood Saregama is another film the actress is doing. “I was supposed to do a film called Mareyalare. But mid-way, the hero and director had a fall out and the project was stalled. And Sandalwood Saregama is all about why Mareyalare didn’t happen,” she adds.
Having made her presence felt in the Kannada industry by bagging an interesting mix of films, the actor is now looking at working in other industries? “I am not new to Tamil or Telugu films. I have acted in a Telugu film — Allum Velluli and in Tamil films Vaada Poda Nanbargal and Muppoludumun Karpanaigal. Language is not a barrier. I’m just on the hunt for good scripts. I’m looking forward to do roles like the ones Genelia and Kareena played in Bommarillu and Jab We Met respectively. However, I think it will take a role like the one essayed by Urmila in Kaun to bring out the best in me,” she adds. We wish she gets to play her dream role soon!
