Pop singer Shakira has been nominated for 2012 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

The ‘Waka Waka’ singer is not the only one celebrating as the nominees for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame have been announced. Guns N' Roses, Heart, The Cure, Joan Jett and the Blackhearts are some of the hopefuls.

Previous nominees like the Beastie Boys, The Red Hot Chili Peppers and Donna Summer are hoping that this might be their year. The induction ceremony will be held on April 14.

The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, a museum located in Ohio, United States, is dedicated to archiving the history of some of the best-known and most influential artists, producers, engineers and others who have, in some major way, influenced the music industry through the genre of rock music.
