Shah Rukh Khan involves himself completely in a project - right from pre-production to promotions. And with Happy New Year released and having a successful run, some filmmakers' projects with King Khan can now take off.

In all probability his next film will be Maneesh Sharma's Fan, an Aditya Chopra production that will feature SRK in a double role. Next, there's Rahul Dholakia's Raees, with Farhan Akhtar and Nawazuddin Siddiqui attached.

After two larger-than-life movies (Chennai Express and Happy New Year), Khan wants to do something different. “I don’t choose films for the sake of it, but because of what state of mind I am in. I have done two big films – Chennai and Happy New Year. Big means the scale is big. Now, I just wanted to be in a more realistic actor’s phase. I have never seen life from a point of someone who likes me. It would be very interesting for me to be on the other side. To be a fan, what does it mean, felt like a good idea. It’s diametrically opposite to who I am,” he says. He, however, clarifies, "The story of Fan is not like what has been mentioned on Twitter.

Shah Rukh will be seen in a realistic role in Dholakia's film. “Raees is an earthy role and I am an urban actor. So I found that interesting", he says. The actor will also do a movie with his Chennai Express director Rohit Shetty. “As for Rohit’s film, it will be in his genre – that is bigger and better. I want to make a big film with him because I like the vision he has and I think he is fantastic. He is hard-working like I am, he has got a mad sense of humour and a sensibility that I like. He also very funny on the sets and his unit is funny,” says SRK.

The work diary seems full for now. The rest can wait....
