Shah Rukh Khan has always maintained that he doesn't understand money. But let's not forget he is the richest actor in India, which means he is a smart businessman. The latest proof of SRK's entrepreneurial spirit is the whopping, eye-popping, mind-numbing deal that he has cut for his 'Slam' concert tours in the US and Canada.

Shah Rukh's company Red Chillies will walk home from each of the 11 shows in the US and Canada with $1.2 million. The ticket prices in the US concerts range from Rs7,000 to Rs45,000, and more. The NRIs who are huge fans of Shah Rukh are buying tickets ensuring the huge success of the show.

A source from the US associated with the organisers of the Slam tour says, "Shah Rukh gets $1.2 million per show. This is his takeaway fee for every concert in the Slam tour exclusive of all other expenses pertaining to the concerts. If we calculate the total amount he takes home from the the 11 concerts, Shah Rukh will cover the cost of production of his film Happy New Year from the concerts themselves. Whatever profits he makes at the box-office will be surplus."

But SRK is not pocketing the whole amount, even though he is the biggest draw of this show. All the actors -- Abhishek Bachchan, Sonu Sood, Boman Irani, Vivaan Shah and leading lady Deepika Padukone -- are getting their full market price. This is the first time that the actors are getting paid to promote the film. Will set a trend perhaps?
