Shah Rukh Khan talks about 'Raees' co-stars Mahira Khan and Nawazuddin Siddiqui

Shah Rukh Khan might be busy shooting for his next- YRF's Fan directed by Maneesh Sharma but the actor is gung ho about his other film- Raees. Essaying the role of a Gujarati bootlegger, SRK is excited to work with Nawazuddin Siddiqui and newcomer Mahira Khan.

At the launch of Daboo Ratnani's yearly calendar, SRK was asked about his film Raees. "Raees is a totally different film. It is something that I have not done for quite sometime now. For me, it's like going back to my roots. It is a more earthy role", SRK smiled.

After Deepika Padukone, Anushka Sharma, it's time for Pakistani import Mahira Khan to make a sensational debut opposite the Bollywood Badshah. When asked about the pairing, SRK replied, "Mahira totally fits the role. She is a terrific actress. I met her a few times during the narration and few other times. I have previously watched her on television and she's a fantastic performer. Plus, the role suits her perfectly. You guys will get to see that when you watch the film yourself"

Along with Mahira, Shah Rukh will also be sharing screen space with Nawazuddin Siddiqui for the first time. Ask the superstar about it and he says he's kicked to act with Nawaz. "Nawaz is one of the best in the business. I am so kicked to share screen space with him. And with actors like Mahira and Nawaz in the film, I guess I have to up my game. I will have to excel and perform like them now."
