Shah Rukh Khan's 'Fan' to revive his psycho-lover avatar from 'Darr'

With Fan, Shah Rukh Khan returns to the dark side. No, there won’t be any Star Wars-inspired action in this, but the ‘force’ of nostalgia will be strong with this one as the psychotic loverboy from Yash Chopra’s Darr returns.

Remember when love for the actor didn’t have the Gerua hue? Instead, it was the time he landed a hit even after sending his fiancée to her death from a high-rise (Baazigar) and pursued a woman who loved another man (in Darr). Twenty-three years after Darr, YRF wants to resurrect that obsessive lover through Fan.

A source tells us, “Director Maneesh Sharma was given the brief of getting back to screen the psycho lover from Darr. That’s one Shah Rukh who has gone missing in the last two decades.” In Fan, his character Gaurav Chandana’s love and adulation for his favourite superstar Aryan Khanna slowly turns into obsession which has a destructive effect on him and he eventually goes up against his own idol.
