India is possibly a nation that eates, lives, loves and breathes cricket. Still, it took almost half a decade for the makers to come up with a biopic on a cricketer, ever since biopics became the 'it' thing in Bollywood. Filmmakers made biopics on athletes - Paan Singh Tomar, Milkha Singh, Mary Kom and others but cricketers were missed. Come 2016 and there are as many as three cricketing legends' lives being translated on celluloid.
Sachin Tendulkar, Mahendra Singh Dhoni and Mohammad Azharuddin are all set to witness their interesting and at times controversial life-stories come alive on screen. The Sachin biopic teaser was unveiled on Thursday and it has already received thunderous response from the audience. And there's a lot of things which separate his story from the others.

Titled 'Sachin: A Billion Dreams', the Tendulkar biopic hits the right chord. A living legend, Sachin has been followed by almost three generations, a feat that has not been achieved by many on the field. He's an emotion everyone's felt, a dream everyone's lived with and a phenomenon everyone's celebrated. That's Sachin Tendulkar for Indians and his story will create a hysteria of a different level altogether.
A documentary!
While many are still confused about the runtime, let us inform you this right away. Sachin isn't a full fledged Bollywood filn. It's an interesting documentary that captures the triumphant life of the Master Blaster. From his first innings to his meteoric rise and his tearful goodbye, Sachin's life is inspirational and aspirational by all means. Director James Erskine has carved a beautiful documentary out of his life and soon, it will be available for all his fans.

We still don't know if Azharuddin will be making an appearance in Azhar or whether MS Dhoni too will be seen in his biopic, but what we know for sure is that Sachin will be an integral part of his biopic for sure. Unlike other biopics, Sachin will be seen playing himself in the documentary and that is an added bonus for sure. And this definitely sets Sachin apart from any other biopics made on anyone in the history of Indian cinema.
