If publicity designs and marketing techniques are anything to go by, then Akshay Kumar and his 'Gabbar is Back' is expected to become the biggest money spinner of the year so far. The highly anticipated Akki starrer has already raked in huge moolah even before the film released. Kumar Mangat has already paid a whopping Rs 40 crore to acquire the all India theatrical rights of Sanjay Leela Bhansali's 'Gabbar is Back'.

Viacom 18 has produced the Akshay starrer, which also has Shruti Haasan in the lead. The production house had already got a deal done with Mangat to distribute two of their upcoming films- 'Gabbar is Back' and 'Dharam Sankat Mein'. While the combined price paid for both the films is as much as Rs 45 crore, Mangat has paid Rs 40 crore for 'Gabbar Is Back' itself.

Previously, Anil Thadani had acquired Akshay's 'Baby' for Rs 37 crore but it seems with 'Gabbar', Akshay has beaten his own record. Given the lull at the box office prevailing over the entire first quarter, 'Gabbar' is expected to storm at the box office.
