Rs 12.65 crore! That's exactly how much Deepika Padukone's being paid for Padmavati

Remember Kangana Ranaut crying out loud that she is the highest paid actress in Bollywood? She had made tall claims that she charges Rs 11 crore per film while evidences say a different story altogether. While Kangana merely gets Rs 3 crore per project, Deepika Padukone has taken a major leap in the regard and turned out to be the highest paid actress in B-Town today. 

According to Bollywoodlife.com, Dippy has hiked her fee for Sanjay Leela Bhansali's next - Padmavati that has her chronicling the live of Rani of Chittor and she will play the central lead whereas Ranveer Singh will play Alauddin Khilji and Shahid Kapoor will essay the role of her husband in the film. 

Deepika is taking home a fat fee as her remuneration for the period drama. She is charging exactly Rs 12.65 crore which is humongous. Also, this is the highest a Bollywood heroine has ever charged for any film. But given Deepika's continuous string of successes at the box office, some of which she has shouldered all alone, we think the hike is completely justified too. But will this bring in a welcome change in the pay disparity that exists in the industry? We hope it does!
