Rohit Roy opts out of Porus, Aditya Redij REPLACES him

Rohit Roy, who was to return to TV with the historical Porus, opted out due to unavailability of dates. Aditya Redij has replaced him. Though Rohit was looking forward to being part of a period drama on TV — a first for him — the shoot dates were clashing with his directorial feature film for Sanjay Leela Bhansali.

A source close to the actor-director says, “Rohit had started prepping for the historical and had given dates in April. However, his film with SLB, due to go on floors by year-end, got preponed and pre-production work on the film begins next month. Rohit felt it would be better to opt out of the serial.”

Aditya Redij, who was last seen doing a cameo in Peshwa Bajirao as Chhatrapati Shivaji, will be playing Porus’ father, Bamani in the show. He has already started shooting for it in Thailand.
