Ram Charan takes fans by surprise, releases an official statement post the debacle of 'Vinaya Vidheya Rama'

It is not often that actors in the Telugu film industry accept failure. When a film tanks at the box office, the PR wing of the film goes into promoting the film big time, calling it a “hit”, “blockbuster” and the like. One such film in recent times was Ram Charan’s Vinaya Vidheya Rama, that released on January 11, ahead of the Sankranti festive season. Alongside negative reviews from critics, the film was panned by the audiences as well. In fact, industry trackers have noted this to be one of the worst performing films of the star.

And so, it came as quite a refresher when Ram Charan released a statement on Tuesday. “Unfortunately, the vision could not get translated properly on screen,” read his statement in which he promised to “deliver better films” henceforth. The actor’s move is drawing appreciation from audiences who aren’t used to such messages from their matinee idols.

Directed by Boyapati Srinu and starring Kiara Advani as the female lead, Vinaya Vidheya Rama was Ram Charan’s next release after one of the biggest hits in India in 2018, Rangasthalam that grossed Rs 225 crore in its lifetime run as opposed to Vinaya Vidheya Rama which managed to reach the 100 crore mark with extreme difficulty.
