Here's what Shah Rukh Khan has to say about the release date of Raees...
All hell broke lose when reports of Shah Rukh Khan's much anticipated flick Raees releasing on January 26, 2017 started doing the rounds as it meant that the film will inevitably clash with Hrithik Roshan's Kaabil.Rakesh Roshan didn't seem very happy about it as well since he had announced the said date for Kaabil's release first.
However, we already told you that few days before the trailer launch of Raees, Rakesh Roshan informed that Kaabil will now release on the eve of January 25. This gave a slight relief to the fans as they thought that a direct clash has been averted. But they all were in for a surprise when they saw the Raees trailer, which clearly mentions the release date to be January 25 as well.
Rakesh Roshan exclusively told us "I didn't know about their date. My distributors said we should come out on January 25 from the evening shows. I didn't know the Raees team also planned to change their date" adding that "Whatever dates we are taking, they are following us. I would have never done the same. Here's what he said:
"Actually humne bahut pehle decide kar liya tha because pehle dono filmein chabbis ko aa rahi thi. I think humne apna discussion wahaan khatam kar liya tha jahaan par humein maloom pad gaya tha ki dono filmein saath mein aa rahi hain. So we had decided with our exhibitors and distributors ki hum pachchis ko aa rahe hain. And I think Kaabil ab shaam ke shows mein aa rahi hai, we will come at the regular shows. So aisa kuch takleef ki baat nahin hai ki unke baad decide kiya unhonein pehle decide kiya. I think yeh logical decision hai chabbis ko chutti hai usse pehle agar aap thoda sa fayda lele evening shows ka ya day shows ka”
At the press conference that followed post the Raees trailer launch, when Shah Rukh Khan was quizzed about the decision to pre-pone the release date of Raees from 26 to 25 soon after Rakesh Roshan made the announcement, SRK said that the (Raees) team had already decided to release the movie on January 25 after having a discussion. He further added that a lot of things are reported in the media but they (the makers) had always maintained that they will announce the release date along with the trailer release and now that the trailer is here, the release date is also out from their end. "
Earlier this morning, we had already revealed that unlike Kaabil, Raees will have a proper full fledged release on January 25, right from the morning whereas Kaabil will have an evening release on the same date. Now this is the first titanic clash of the year 2017. Watch this space for more updates.
