PTP Trust denies that Kamal Haasan made a donation to them

There was widespread news on Thursday that actor Kamal Haasan had donated the money he made from the brand endorsement deal for Pothys. A 'Certificate of Appreciation' allegedly from Petralthan Pillaiya (PTP) Trust, an NGO and Hello FM had stated that Kamal Haasan had donated Rs 16 crore to the PTP Trust for the treatment of HIV positive children.

However, PTP trust officials have stated to dna that this letter which is out in the public arena is not real. They state that someone has misused their letterhead and spread false information about the trust and the donation. The PTP Trust twitter handle (@PTPtrust) put out a message this evening stating: "Some of you have read tweet regarding a donation by Mr.Kamal Haasan to the Petralthan Pillaiya Trust ( PTP Trust). This is false. Spreading this info gives false hope to our children. Please share and retweet this msg. Please avoid spreading inaccurate information. - Msg from Mr.Rajeev Nambiar (Founder Trustee)#kamalhaasan #ptptrust"

The other founder of the PTP Trust is Kamal Haasan himself.
