Last year in January Sonam Kapoor and Rhea Kapoor had announced their film Veere Di Wedding with Kareena Kapoor Khan and Sonam top-lining the cast. The film was to begin mid 2016, but was pushed ahead as Kareena was pregnant. The film is now slated to go on the floors this May. Meanwhile, another film with a similar sounding title Veerey Ki Wedding starring Jimmy Sheirgill is being shot.

Looks like the title of Jimmy's film hasn't gone down well the Kapoors, who claimed to have registered theirs first, reports Mid-Day. Anil Kapoor has written a letter to the Film Makers Combine to look into it.
On the other hand, Veerey Ki Wedding director Ashu Trikha claims that they had registered it with Indian Motion Pictures Producers Association and acquired copyright and trademark for the title. He is quoted saying, "The association suggests that a trademark supersedes any other registration. Legally, we have supported out title with everything." Fifty percent of his film has already been shot and by next week it will complete 80 per cent.

While a senior member of IMPAA is quoted saying that Anil will have to choose a new title, since shooting for his film has not yet started, Anil's spokesperson says they had registered the title in 2015 and will go ahead with it.
