Pammi Aunty to have a talk show

Ssumier Pasricha, the man behind the creation of the viral Pammi Aunty videos, is on a roll. Not only has the quintessential Punjabi gossip queen completed a year this month, she is now endorsing the biggest of jewellery brands, soft drinks, and phones. She has now been approached by Pepsi for an  endorsement. “I do indirect marketing. I weave the story around the product and not advertise it upfront. That’s why corporates approach me. They tell me to talk about the product for 10 secs and continue to retain the humour of my show,” says Ssumier.

He recently won the best marketing influencer (digital) of the year trophy by Masters of Modern Marketing Awards 2017. “It’s the seventh award that I have won in the last one year,” smiles the actor. Did he think his Pammi Aunty impersonation would become so popular? “I never thought I would come this far in such an unexpected way. Pammi has become a brand. As long as I can leverage more stories and entertain people I will continue,” he says. His latest video about Pammi’s daughter-in-law’s mother returning from America became viral in Australia! “Yes, Pammi is there in every part of the world. I guess they related to the American humour in it,” smiles Ssumier, who is now planning a talk show with Pammi Aunty. It will be aired on a channel on an international platform.
