Pakistan paper quotes fake Rani Mukherji Twitter account urging referendum in Kashmir

Pakistani media made another faux pas when they claimed that Bollywood actress Rani Mukherji supports a referendum on Kashmir.

Quoting a fake Twitter account, Pakistan news site The News International said that the Bollywood star has urged both nations to leave everything aside and work toward a referendum on what the Kashmiris want.

However, the actress has never been part of any form of social media platforms. The fake Twitter account poses as Rani Mukherji and the posts are made to sound like the actress herself is tweeting. The fake account also mentions and links to Rani Mukherji's manager Runali Bhagat's Twitter account.

But Bhagat's retweets on her Twitter handle clarify that Rani Mukherji is not on Twitter and the quotes attributed to her come from someone posing as the actress.

Rani Mukherji is not on social media. The remarks on Kashmir attributed to her are from a fake account.
