Selfie proved to be the word of 2013. It not only made waves on microblogging websites, but also found a place in dictionary. Even actors who are known to be extremely finicky about the way they look, especially when they have to present themselves to the audience, gave in to the global fascination for selfies. And now selfies seem to have taken a turn for the worse.
Taking this obsession a step ahead are Hollywood actors and celebrities who are posting their pictures when they are sick. Actors, who are usually very choosy about the right angle and correct lighting, seem to have been swept by this rather unhealthy fad. Called the ill healthies these pics sure aren’t very flattering, but it brings out a more human side of these celebs. Celebrities such as model Kelly Brook, Canadian popstar Justin Bieber and footballer Wayne Rooney have shared their injuries and sickness with the world.
And though B-Town celebs are more than keen to follow the footsteps of their Hollywood counterparts, that doesn’t seem to hold true this time around. It’s been some time now that Bollywood actors have been connecting with their fans via Twitter. And while they are keen to share their daily happenings, new projects and, of course, box-office collections with their followers, unflattering pictures haven’t quite made it to the list yet.
