How does it feel to be back with Yeh Meri Life Hai after a skin ailment?
It’s great to be back on the show. I didn’t know that I had such a big fan following till Yeh Meri Life Hai happened. It is because of their prayers that I am back. I am overwhelmed. My skin problem was the worst nightmare I have faced in my entire life. It’s very unkind to think of it as a publicity stunt. I spent several sleepless nights because of the pain. I would not want to publicize it.
Will your fans approve of the negative twist your character has now taken?
Ashmit may have negative shades but he is not a villain. He is just turning to be a crazy and obsessive lover. It’s a gradual tiwst.
You are reported to share great off-screen chemistry with Shama Sikander.
There’s no off-screen chemistry between Shama and me. She is one of the best co-stars I have had - extremely professional, cooperative and open to suggestions. She is a nice human being too. Though it sounds clichéd, she is just a good friend as of now.
‘As of now’ means?
I mean she always was nothing more than a friend and no I am not dating her.
What attracts you most in a woman?
At first it would be her looks as I would not say ‘hi’ looking at her feet. But what would attract me most is the maternal side in a woman. That makes me feel secure. I am very fond of my mother and I would want my woman to have at least 10 per cent of her qualities.
Can you name an actress you would like to date?
Vyjyantimala! I don’t find anyone more beautiful than her. I respect her as an actor and the way she carried herself on screen.
Marriage or a live-in relationship, what would be your option?
I believe in marriage. After a certain age I cannot continue living life on my own. I need a partner and I want to have my own family. As for a live-in relationship there is no problem. But what is the result at the end of the day?
What would a dream honeymoon be like?
As of now, I have honey everyday and I see the moon when it is up there. But I haven’t thought about the combination of the two.
What is Rahil Azim’s USP?
My confidence and zeal to do my best are my strengths. But I would never give up my values to achieve things. I have had a traditional upbringing. It’s not that I don’t like girls in minis but there should be a limit. I respect our culture. I like all that is Indian.
