Marisa Tomei and Joe Pesci's popular characters from "My Cousin Vinny" are set to return after 25 years with author Lawrence Kelter's literary sequel to the 1992 classic comedy.

In the film, Pesci played Vincent LaGuardia "Vinny" Gambini, a loudmouth New York attorney with a minor legal background who was called on to defend his cousin, accused of murder in rural Alabama.

While, Tomei essayed the role of Vinny's fiancee Mona Lisa Vito, which won her an Oscar for the best supporting actress.

Kelter obtained the rights from screenwriter Dale Launer, the Writers Guild, and 20th Century Fox to write a new novel based on the characters, reported Deadline.

Titled "Back to Brooklyn", the book updates the beloved characters from the film 25 years after their Alabama courtroom drama.
