Malayalam music director Rajamani dies in Chennai

Malayalam music director Rajamani died at a Chennai hospital on Sunday night. He reportedly complained of uneasiness and was rushed to the hospital. However, he was declared dead at 9 pm, according to a report in Malayalam Manorama. He was 60.

Rajamani was the son of noted musician BA Chidambaranath and has worked in over 70 Malayalam films. He made his debut as a music director in 1985 in the movie Nullinovikkathe that starred Balan K Nair and Madhuri.

He was awarded the Kerala State Film Award for best background score for the Mohanlal-starrer Aaraam Thampuran.

Rajamani was said to have been close to music director Johnson whose daughter Shan died recently.
