Soon after rumours of Lata Mangeshkar's death took the online world by storm on Tuesday, the Queen of Melody took to Twitter to clear the air surrounding her demise.

The legendary singer tweeted: 

The rumours of the singer having suffered a heart attack started doing the rounds on Tuesday soon after the news of yesteryear actress Nanda broke.

The rumour sent Bollywood into a tizzy with many enquiring about the 84-year-old's health. However, many took to Twitter to assure fans that the singer was in good health. National award-winning director Madhur Bhandarkar posted:

Television actress and BJP leader Smriti Irani tweeted:

This is not the first time that such rumours were floated about the singer. Rumours of her death had also surfaced way back in February 2013.

Yesterday, Lata Mangeshkar took to the microblogging site to condole the death of actress Nanda recalling fond memories from her childhood:

"Mujhe abhi pata chala ki abhinetri Nanda jise hum baby nanda kehete the wo ab humare bich nahi rahi,ye sunke mujhe bohot dukh hua.baby Nanda jab 4/5 saal ki thi tab usne mandir is film me mere chote bhai ki bhumika nibhaayi thi,main Nanda ke pitaji master Vinayak ji ki company me as child actress 1943 se kaam karti thi,meri Nanda aur uski badi behen Meena ke saath badi dosti thi.Nanda ki peheli film Tufaan aur diya thi tab se maine Nanda ke liye playback shuru kiya,bohot acchi insaan thi.Bhagwan uski aatma ko shaanti de," the 84-year-old reminisced.
