Kushal Tandon whose shoulder injury worsened during the boot camp stunt in Khatron Ke Khiladi 5, is readying for a surgery. And the operation will be conducted by the same doctor who had done the surgery on Shah Rukh Khan. "I had already torn the lebrum tissue of my shoulder but with physiotherapy I managed to do the stunts in Khatron Ke Khiladi. However, during the boot camp stunt which was akin to a commando drill, I hurt myself again and only surgery can help now," says Kushal. It was Rohit Shetty, who advised him to consult SRK's doctor Sanjay Desai.
Incidentally, the stunt that injured him also led to his elimination from the show. "But, I not only completed the stunt with one hand, I won it," says Kushal proudly. Tell him that Ajaz Khan had declared that it was because of him that Kushal opted out and Kushal dismisses it saying, "Ajaz is a wild card entrant. You will see for yourself that he hasn't been able to do any stunts and will be out in the next two weeks. As for his claims of me being affected by him I don't even want to react. One doesn't react to barking dogs. He is just riding on my fame."
Mention of his beau Gauahar Khan, however, brings a smile to his face. 'It was great that we did the show together. When the person you love is with you it gives you a great support." After the show, the duo has been getting several offers together, including a music video. "It was a nice project but we had to refuse because of my upcoming surgery," says Kushal, who is now looking at making his Bollywood debut. "I am taking a three-month break, and after the surgery, will be working on my fitness and gear up for my film debut. I am reading several scripts and hope to start a film by the end of this year," he says. What about a film with Gauahar? "We would like to work with each other, but as of now there's nothing in the pipeline. We are focussing on our individual careers," he quips.
