Kunal Kapoor is known to be a die-hard comic fan and often travels across the globe to catch comic-cons that take place through the year. At a recent such event, Kunal spent a whooping $6000 (approx Rs3,71,130) to buy a rare comic from a collector in Belgium. Speaking about his latest acquisition, he says, “This particular comic is from the Batman detective series and what makes it so special is, its the introduction to Batman’s arch enemy.”

The actor, who collects comics, has over 600 in his collection and is even contemplating creating a unique property for comic-collectors from across the globe in India. Speaking about his collection, Kunal says, “I grew up on comic books, but I’ve been collecting them seriously for the last 10 years now.” And yes, he is extremely possessive about his collection. He says, “I lend them out only to people who are passionate about comic books because I know they’ll treat them well.”

And though he collects all sorts of comic books, he does have his favourite. “I read and collect all sorts of graphic novels but I am particularly fond of the Japanese Manga comics.”
