Dare to bare? Twinkle aka Mrs Funnybones was a laugh riot on the show...
It took Karan Johar five seasons to get best friend Twinkle Khanna sipping some Koffee with him on the couch. But when Mrs Funnybones made an appearance with The Man Of The House aka Akshay Kumar on Koffee with Karan season 5's latest episode, she made sure that this goes down the memory lane as one of the best episodes ever in Koffee history.
Twinkle was a laugh riot - unabashed and unapologetic whereas hubby Akshay was just busy hiding his face behind the Koffee cup. She dared to bare it all and she did it and how!
Talking about her relationship with Akshay, she made some shocking revelations. She said their love story started as a fling. Akshay quickly responded saying, "It wasn't a fling," desperately trying to change the topic. But Twinkle had other plans. "It definitely was," she continued.
"I was just out of a serious relationship and I just wanted to have a casual fling with him. I thought he would just last 15 days!" she laughed. Why 15 days? Akshay immediately retorted, "Because that was the outdoor for the shoot." Tina continued, "We were shooting in Calgary and I had no good book to read. So I thought he was perfect for me."
But soon, the fling wasn't a fling anymore. The couple got into a serious relationship and Akshay proposed her. But Twinkle wasn't ready for marriage. "I thought Mela would be the gamechanger for me. So I told him I won't marry him then. I also said that if Mela flops, I will marry you." Then Mela tanked at the box office and the rest is history.
But do you know that Twinkle even made sure she studied the whole family tree, learn about Akshay's genetic heredity and the illnesses in his family tree before they got hitched? Well, she did. Revealing all of it on the talks show, Twinkle said, "Obviously, when you know you are mixing someone's genes in yours, you need to be extra careful. I wanted to know what diseases run in his family so I would be like Kaki ko kya hua tha and Pintu mama ko kya hua tha. Initially, he thought it was out of concern until he found that list where I had jotted down everything. But I didn't hide it from him. It was lying on the bedside."
Akshay says initially he was very angry at Tina for doing this. "But then I realised it's for the better future. So I was okay with it. She also made a Pros and Cons list about marrying me"
Tina accepted the allegation and laughed, "Yes, there was a list of pros and cons which I had made before marrying him. I am a very practical woman. So there were 7 pros and 2 cons. The first pro was 'Well Settled'. All the pros and cons have remained the same." What were the cons, Karan quizzed. "Well, there are 2 things which I don't wanna tell but they too haven't changed till date."
All in all, it was a crazy laughathon with the Kumar couple and we hope to see more of Twinkle from now onwards. She's witty, funny and absolutely practical and we love women like these!
