Kajol stands up for Ajay Devgn

A marriage is all about having each other’s back. Sometimes, it is about making tough decisions. No one knows this better than Kajol. Her husband Ajay Devgn has had issues with a few B-Town folks, some with her close friends, but she stood by his side, defending him loyally. Taking a look at some of these equations:

With Aditya Chopra

When Ajay’s Son Of Sardaar clashed with Yash Chopra’s Jab Tak Hai Jaan, Ajay filed a legal complaint against YRF for blocking a majority of multiplexes and single screens leaving Ajay with fewer screens. Kajol had a relationship with the Chopras as she starred in DDLJ. Ajay suing the studio damaged things for Kajol. And his ire against the film alienated SRK. Kajol was not invited to the grand premiere of the film, which all the YRF heroines attended.

With Shah Rukh Khan

It started with Rakesh Roshan’s Karan Arjun when both SRK and Ajay were offered the roles and both decided to back out. Later, Shah Rukh signed the film with Salman Khan. For years Ajay didn’t forgive the actor and made his displeasure obvious whenever Kajol signed a film with SRK. In 2014, Ajay and SRK made up when Khan dropped in on the sets of Singham Returns in Bulgaria. Things soured again when SRK’s Jab Tak Hai Jaan clashed with Son Of Sardaar.

With Karan Johar

Last year, Ajay Devgn called KJo and fired him for bad mouthing Kajol. Karan, expected his close friend Kajol to apologise. She did, when they met at one of the Ambani parties but their friendship ended. During Shivaay and ADHM, Devgn released an audio clip of a conversation between his manager Kumar Mangat Pathak and Kamaal R Khan claiming he was paid Rs 25 lakh to promote ADHM. There was open war. In his book, Karan spoke about the dispute and how he could never consider her a friend now.
