Karan Wahi had once said two men work better than a boy and a girl as hosts because it lends to better script, more jokes and the scope of having fun is limitless. That's probably the reason the makers of Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa have decided to bring in Manish Paul, the show's resident host to pep up the proceedings with Ranvir Shorey. After pairing up with Kapil Sharma in the earlier edition, it should be interesting to see how Manish's easy charm works against Ranvir's wry humour.

The two boys' host story started with Gautam Rode and Karan Wahi, who had co-hosted Nach Baliye 5. The chemistry between them was so good that they were retained for the next season too! Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa, which till season six had a male and female doing the honours, got Manish and Kapil as hosts. Earlier too, shows like Roadies and Ranvir Vinay Aur Kaun had a couple of men hosting them, and were extremely popular. Here's taking a look at other such shows that have captured eyeballs.

P.S. Strangely, there have hardly been any shows with two women as co-anchors save for one dance show Yeh Hai Jalwa, that was co-hosted by TV's iconic bahus Smriti Irani (Tulsi) and Sakshi Tanwar (Parvati)!

Kapil Sharma-Manish Paul
Kapil and Manish were a riot in Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 6. Kapil's poker faced jokes and Manish's repartees had the viewers in splits. Both had different styles of hosting - Manish oozes charm, is flirtatious and witty while Kapil has a very good sense of humour and is good with one-liners. They were often seen pulling each others' leg, which added to their fun-quotient. Add to it their easy banter with the judges and contestants and you had a winner!

Gautam Rode-Karan Wahi
They were the Jai-Veeru of Nach Baliye. One was sober, while the other was exuberant. Gautam and Karan complemented each other perfectly as hosts. The bromance between bade and chhote as they called themselves was sweet. They even performed a seductive dance together. Both rued the lack of a girl in their lives and were always trying to be one up when it came to impressing the actresses who made special appearances on the show. They never missed an opportunity to hit on Shilpa Shetty, who was a judge on the show and once even took off their shirts and flaunted their six-pack abs to woo her!

Siddharth Gupta-Ashish Juneja
Siddharth and Ashish have been hosting MTV Jhand Hogi Sabki where-in they pull pranks on TV and film celebrities. The two youngsters share a cool camaraderie and a good tuning. If one is planning a prank, the other takes the responsibility of organising it with the production house. The duo starred in Kuku Mathur Ki Jhand Ho Gayi, and the show was launched just before the film released. The film did not do well but Siddharth and Ashish are developing a fan base with their endearing chemistry. The best part about the pair is both are chirpy, talk dime-a-dozen and never cease to take pot-shots at each other. Most importantly, they look cute together!

Raghu Ram-Rannvijay
One was the creative director of Roadies and the other was a winner of the adventure show. As hosts they couldn't be more different. While Raghu is rude and mean to the contestants, Rannvijay is like a soothing balm, guiding, encouraging and motivating to them to do the tasks. Between them, Raghu and Rannvijay played the roles of good cop and bad cop to the 'T' and together rocked the show.

Bromance at award shows
Boman Irani-Riteish Deshmukh
The duo brought the roof down as hosts of this award show. They spoofed the best nominations, and took digs at everyone from Karan Johar to Aamir Khan!

Shah Rukh Khan-Saif Ali Khan
The Kal Ho Naa Ho pair was at its funniest best and the audience couldn't have enough of them. They made fun at everyone including themselves!

Shah Rukh Khan-Shahid Kapoor
This pair has hosted different award functions and turned out some hilarious acts. The witty SRK pulling Shahid's legs and the latter giving it back subtly to his senior made for good entertainment.

Shahid Kapoor-Farhan Akhtar
They made for a fresh pairing but were politically correct most of the time.

Imran Khan-Ranbir Kapoor
These Gen Next actors were still finding their feet when they hosted a show and it showed!
