It's a boy and a girl for George and Amal Clooney!

Hollywood star George Clooney and his highly accomplished lawyer wife Amal Clooney are expecting a boy and a girl as twins, the actor's mother has confirmed.

Nina Clooney said the family is excited with news, reported RadarOnline.

"It will be one of each! Yes, a boy and a girl. That's what I've been told. How marvelous! My husband and I are extremely excited," Nina, 77, said.

Though George's mom is clearly in the know, she did admit that the parents-to-be have not discussed the names of the twins with her.

"I haven't been told their names. That is George and Amal's department." 

The event of the year marked the first marriage for Amal and second for George. However, this will be the first child for both and Nina Clooney says the family is extremely happy after hearing Amal's pregnancy news, reported Us weekly.

"We are extremely happy for George and Amal, and I cannot imagine two people who would be better parents. I think he'll be great, and I think she'll be a great mom," she said.

Nina said the couple personally came to visit her and George's father Nick in order to deliver the happy news.

"We were with them and they told us together. We were all together, and it was lovely. It was just a personal moment."
