Guess what fascinates Hollywood actor Bradley Cooper the most about a Bollywood movie — not the actors or the music, but the scenic beauty. “India and Indian films have beautiful visual landscape,” he said. “I have also heard of the variation that the films are offering these days in addition to the traditional films which make the new found offering extremely promising,” added the star.

But talking about his all time favourite films, he reveals that they are The Diving Bell and The Butterfly by Julian Schnabel. “I feel that they are one of the best films ever made,” confirmed Cooper who will now be seen in his soon to be released film Limitless.

It was with the American TV show Alias, that the actor caught everyone’s eye , even though, he admits that “Sex and the City was my first speaking job.” However playing the “nicest guy in the world” (in Alias) didn’t help him much. “I would audition for movies and the feedback would be ‘He’s such a nice guy, Bradley. I don’t really see an edge, but such a sweet guy. Please tell him we loved meeting him’.”

His forthcoming film, he said, is based on Alan Glynn’s book The Dark Fields. “I read the book only after I got the part. It is a compelling read and a compelling character and not too far away from what is medically possible. Just like the book, when we made the movie, we wanted it to incite questions,” he said. Poke him further on whether he is an avid reader otherwise, and he quips, “I love to read. But it’s a good question because sometimes it seems all I read are scripts.”

Talking about his character (Eddie) in the movie - a 35-year-old who gets into drugs — Cooper explained, “Hope is vacant from Eddie’s life. When I first started acting, I was working as a doorman in New York. But I had a lot of hope.”

Recalling his own days as a student, the actor revealed that he’s had the craziest experience in college. “I misread the form saying how much money you have allocated for when you’re there for five months. It said 500 pounds, which sounded like a lot of money but isn’t. I had three months left, and I was broke and I literally bought rice and oil and cooked it on a hot plate; I have the photos to prove it."
