She doesn’t like to be called a 'porn star'. Karen Malhotra, better known as Sunny Leone, who is now in the Bigg Boss house, feels that her entry in the house will help Indian audiences distinguish between prostitution and the 'adult' film industry.

Malhotra insists that Bollywood was her childhood dream and she would love to work in films here.

“Being an adult model happened to me by chance when I was studying to be a nurse," said Malhotra. "I always wanted to be a heroine in films, but I guess something else was planned for me. I have no regrets about my alter ego Sunny Leone as I am here today only because of it.”

Malhotra believes her family background, born as she was to Indian parents and brought up in a Punjabi household in Canada, has only helped her in her career.

“I am like any other regular girl," said the woman who was named among Maxim's top 12 porn performers in 2010. "I, too, will be married and have kids, eventually. I am warm and nice to people as that is what we were taught while growing up by my parents.

"Also we were always told to give our 100% in whatever job we took up. These things also helped in my career as an adult star.

"I will not deny that confronting my parents about my profession was the biggest challenge of my life. But luckily after the initial glitch they have been supportive of my choice and I am very much in touch with all my relatives from both sides of the family. In fact, I had recently come to Haridwar with them.”

Though Malhotra was offered a couple of Hindi films, a few directors apparently asked her for sexual favours in return.

She said one of her reasons for joining the Bigg Boss show was to chase her childhood dream of getting into Bollywood.

Her favourite actor in Hindi cinema is none other than the show’s just returned host. “I watched Bodyguard recently and loved Salman [Khan] in it," she said. "He is just too good. I hope to meet him soon and can only wish that I work with him some day."
