Anticipations for Bang Bang were huge, expectations were sky-rocketing. With a massive opening day footfall, thanks to the Hrithik Roshan-Katrina Kaif chemistry and the slick action sequences promised, Bang Bang was looking for a whopping total after its extended first week. Releasing on October 2, a national holiday followed by Dussehra, the weekends and Bakri Id, the film had ample chances of making it really big.

Poor screenplay and half-hearted performances stopped Bang Bang to score as high as it was expected to do. The film scored an approximate Rs 110 crore after its eight day first week, which is the 7th highest in the domestic circuit at the box office.

Although Bang Bang was the biggest opener for Hrithik Roshan, it was more than Rs 10 crore below Krrish 3's first week collections. Krrish 3 with an opening week collection of around Rs 121 crore occupies the fifth position just below Aamir Khan's Dhoom 3, Salman Khan's Kick, Shah Rukh Khan's Chennai Express and Salman's Ek Tha Tiger.

The collections have dipped way too much in the second week and the possibilities of the film picking up too looks bleak. Nevertheless, it still needs to be seen if the Hrithik -Katrina starrer can cross the Rs 150 crore mark?
