The high-profile playback singer couple — Rajesh Krishnan and Ramya Vashisht — are set to live separately. With Ramya approaching the court seeking divorce, the split between the couple came to light on Wednesday.

According to reliable sources, Rajesh and Ramya have been living separately for the last few months. Both got married in November 2011 at the Kollur Mookambike temple in the presence of family members and friends. The sources said that it was Rajesh’s third marriage. Earlier, he had married Soumya, the daughter of well-known playback singer B K Sumithra. After divorcing Soumya, Rajesh had tied the nuptial knot with Haripriya, a dentist but the marriage broke down after a few months.

Ramya has alleged that Rajesh was unfit to lead married life and was weak physically and psychologically. “I came to know that Rajesh was unfit for married life one month into our marriage. I had tried to take him to a doctor for a check up but his mother and he resisted,’’ said Ramya in the divorce application.

Rajesh, who started his career as a track singer with music director Hamsalekha, has sung many songs not only in Kannada but also Tamil, Telugu and Hindi. He won the Nandi award from Andhra Pradesh for his song, Yeto Vellipoyindi Manasu in the film, Ninne Pelladtha.

He’s also won the state award for his songs in films including Bannada Gejje, Dumbi and Yekaangi. He has also acted in Gaalipata with Golden Star Ganesh and Diganth. He has also acted in the Telugu film, Nee Prema Bangaaram Kaanu. His Kannada film Holidayz is under production.
