He made his debut in 2007 and in his decade-long career has worked in a variety of films. Hailing from the Kapoor khandaan, Ranbir Kapoor has carved a niche for himself in the industry. Known for his eclectic choice of films, it didn't take long for the actor to prove his versatility. Today, if he is credited with one of the biggest hits - Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani, he also has the dubious distinction of having the biggest flop - Bombay Velvet in his career. But he is probably the only actor whose talent stands undisputed. Hit or flop, nothing dents this Gen Next superstar's popularity. Here's presenting his filmography...

Saawariya (2007): Ranbir made his debut with this Sanjay Leela Bhansali film that was loosely inspired by Dostoevsky’s classic tale White Nights, but it flopped miserably. However, Ranbir who played a goofy lover with affable charm proved he was star material in his very first film.

Bachana Ae Haseeno (2008): He essayed a playboy, an utter cad who breaks hearts. He gets his comeuppance when the girl he falls in love with turns him down. A breezy romantic musical, the film brought Ranbir and Deepika Padukone first time together and their crackling chemistry on screen later extended to their real life.

Wake Up Sid (2009): A coming-of-age film Ranbir stole hearts with his endearing performance as the carefree, spoilt college boy who metamorphoses into a mature man with the help of a slightly older and independent girl in the form of Konkana Sen Sharma.

Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani (2009): A romantic comedy with its share of slapstick jokes, Ranbir breezed through this film with his comic timing and superb performance. Add it it, his chemistry with Katrina Kaif and the film about a guy falling in love with a girl who has a boyfriend, turned out to be a big hit.

Rocket Singh - Salesman Of The Year (2009): Ranbir played a turbaned salesman whose honest approach to work takes a beating. He then slyly steals his company's clients and starts a company of his own. The film was critically-acclaimed and Ranbir won rave reviews for his performance.

Anjaana Anjaani (2010): A romantic drama about how two people who want to end their lives meet and decide to fulfill all their wishes before giving up. In the process they fall in love with each other. However, this film which paired Ranbir with Priyanka Chopra failed at the box office.

Rockstar (2011): The film that had playing Ranbir a rockstar, as the title suggests, was appreciated for the actor's flawless performance more than anything else. The actor who transforms from a college kid Janardhan to the rockstar Jordan played the role with passion and pathos and struck the right chord with the viewers .

Raajneeti (2011): A political drama derived from the Mahabharata and with shades of The Godfather, it had Ranbir playing the reluctant heir to his murky family business. RK played a character with grey shades for the first time and was highly appreciated.

Barfi! (2012): That Ranbir is not an actor who plays by the rules is evident from the choice of his films. Barfi!  had him playing a speech and hearing impaired guy, but his expressions and his effervescent performance won all hearts and made this film a sweet experience.

Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani (2013): A masala entertainer, the film created a lot of buzz for the lead pairing - Ranbir and Deepika Padukone were coming together on screen after their break-up. It pulled in the viewers and the love story of the ex lovers was a winner from day one.

Besharam (2013): The film had the actor playing a tapori for the first time. He played a mechanic who steals cars but mends his ways when he falls in love. It had his parents Rishi and Neetu Kapoor playing his onscreen parents as well, but nothing could help this film from being a dud.

Bombay Velvet (2015): A period drama set in the 1960s Bombay, it had Ranbir as a street fighter who falls in love with a jazz singer and to woo her, aspires to become a big shot by hook or by crook. However, their story ends tragically as they are killed. Even the film took a nosedive at the box office.

Roy (2015): He played the title role, but his was an imaginary character of an international thief created by Arjun Rampal who plays a screenwriter and filmmaker. His role was touted as a guest appearance though he ended up being in most part of the film.

Tamasha (2015): The film brought Deepika and Ranbir together again after Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani. Ranbir played a tortured hero, who is bored with his life as a nine-to-five office guy. Eventually he finds his calling, but not before some play-acting with Deepika in Corsica, falling in love with her and the subsequent heartbreak.
