Amitabh Bachchan turns 74 today and there’s hardly anything that he hasn’t done in his long span of career. He’s an actor par excellence, he writes poetry, hosts shows on television, writes a blog and has even tried hands at playing instruments. Apart from his acting prowess, we can’t help but but admire his baritone voice in which he has sung quite a few songs in his films. So, on the occasion of his birthday, we pick our top 5 favourite songs crooned by Big B:

Say Shava Shava from Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham:
Amitabh Bachchan sang this peppy party number which became an instant hit among the masses. Moreover, the camaraderie between him and Shah Rukh Khan is a treat to watch in this song.

Main Yahaan Tu Wahaan from Baghban:
Big B lent his voice to this heart touching track along with Alka Yagnik and made it all the more soulful. The agony of separation and pangs of love are so beautifully brought out in this soothing song.

Haal-E-Dil from Buddha Hoga Tera Baap:
This is one of the lesser known/popular numbers sung by Big B and we wonder why. The emotion of how should one voice their heartfelt feelings has been crooned to perfection by Amitabh Bachchan.

Piddly Si Baatein from Shamitabh:
This is a peppy track from Shamitabh which sees him in a completely different look and feel. The song is as quite different as it’s sung in a conversational manner.

Rang Barse from Silsila:
The celebrations of Holi are incomplete without this song. Though Big B once again gave us another hit Holi number in ‘Holi Khele Raghubira’ from Baghban, nothing beats this classic song from Silsila.
