With PSY's Gangnam Style video reaching 1 billion views on YouTube this week, the South Korean singer seems to be reaching new heights. However, PSY's YouTube popularity could be challenged by a fish seller from London whose self-composed video has gone viral.

Muhammad Shahid Nazir is a fish seller from Queens Market who moved from Pakistan to London with his wife and children. Nazir used a catchy call to sell his fish and the tune was posted on YouTube by a customer.

The song called £1 fish has so far received more than 5 million views in just a few months.

Nazir had auditioned for X Factor but did not make it past the first round. His appearance on the reality show helped land him a record deal with Warner Music and a Bollywood-style-version of his viral hit song was released. This song is expected to top the Christmas song list for 2012 as its popularity surges.

Only time will tell if the popularity of £1 fish will match the titanic rise of Gangnam Style. But so far the indications are good as people around the world are starting to groove to the beat of Nazir's song.
