Sholay has been acclaimed as a cult film for a number of reasons, one of them being the bond of friendship that the movie brought to celluloid in the guise of Jai (Amitabh Bachchan) and Veeru (Dharmendra). Jai-Veeru also gave us the first popular friendship song in 'Ye Dosti Ham Nahi Todenge'. Did you know that the two characters were named after Salim Khan's drinking buddies from college?

The title aptly sums up the theme of friendship in the film. It gave us all a new definition and meaning of friendship while portraying how Bishan (Amjad Khan) gives up all his riches to see his childhood friend Kishan (Amitabh Bachchan) become a singing superstar. The Munnabhai series redefined the meaning of the term "Bhai" as we see Murli Prasad Sharma aka Munna (Sanjay Dutt) as a goon who's helped by his sidekick-best friend Circuit (Arshad Warsi). In both the instalments of the franchise, we see how Munna is completely dependent on Circuit whenever he needs anything and Circuit is Munna's constant support system, through good times and bad. That's exactly what best friends do, right?

This is where she meets Vijayalakshmi (Lisa Haydon) and develops her inner confidence. VeeJay shows her that it's okay to let your hair down and let go of your worries.
