The film Pagade is one more addition to the long list of recent Kannada films based on terrorism. Hero, Vishwas Bharadwaj, who has had the experience of acting in a few teleserials, makes his debut in Sandalwood with this film. If Bharadwaj’s gestures and acting skills are any indication, it seems director Purushotham not only failed to exploit his acting skills, but also allowed the former to do things in his own way.

Generally, movie buffs watch cinema for entertainment, but the director of this film seems to have forgotten that very important reason of why films are made! This film doesn’t have a single comedy scene or a song that deserves appreciation. The much-hyped 20-minute climax scene consists more dialogues with little-or-no action. It may not be an exaggeration to say that this climax scene is the actual clincher that tests your patience.

It would suffice to say that the movie revolves around a terror plot being planned in Pakistan involving the son of the home minister of Karnataka. Why would terrorists be bothered about the son of a random Karnataka minister? We don’t know and surprisingly, it seems like the film and the director are equally clueless.

Gamya, with an attractive tattoo on her equally attractive shoulder, looks beautiful but the same thing cannot be said about her acting skills.

Simply put, the film is about Vishwas (Vishwas Bharadwaj) who comes to a small town called Souhardhanagar in Karnataka. Vishwas takes shelter at a certain Shastri’s house.

He happens to save Shastri from a mentally-retarded person one day and impressed by his courage and helping nature, Shastri’s daughter Nidhi (Gamya) falls in love with him.

The more Nidhi tries to come closer to him, the more he tries to keep her at an arm’s distance.

Finally, Vishwas says that he is not an Indian but actually someone called Alam Khan, a Pakistani terrorist! For the rest, if you are so genuinely interested... watch the film!
