Actor Kunal Kapoor has decided to take his passion for racing to the next level. He will be competing at the National Rally Championship next year.
“The adrenaline rush I get when I am behind the wheels is just something else!” he says. The hunky actor feels that having hobbies outside one’s own profession “allows you to de-stress and explore a whole new facet of you.”
He discloses how his love for speed made him pursue racing more seriously. “I always loved fast cars but I realised that I needed to get off the road to test my limits, otherwise I would be endangering my life as well as the lives of others. That’s when I got into rally driving, a year-and-a-half back,” he says, and adds that he will have to put in a lot of hard work to train for the national championship. “My coach wants me to compete in the nationals. It’s a skill that needs to be honed as you need to understand your car, the terrain you are driving on, and develop the stamina needed to focus on long hours of driving,” Kunal adds. Fresh from the success of Luv Shuv Tey Chicken Khurana, he terms the audience response as ‘gratifying and encouraging’. And rather than wait for the dream roles to fall on his lap, he will continue with the ideation of scripts and characters that he wants to play on screen. “I have four scripts under consideration and I promise that you will get to see me a lot sooner on screen. I’m not taking a hiatus as long as the last one,” he says with a naughty grin.
