Spider Man has finally conquered the Empire State Building and the landmark will shine red and blue for the premiere of the new Spidey movie, starring Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone.

It’s an about-face for the skyscraper that refused to blink for Broadway’s Spider-Man: Turn off the Dark.

The battle between musical and mortar started when show producers requested that the tower’s lights glow red and blue for opening night, the New York Post reported.

In turn, building owners insisted Spidey’s fight scene against the Green Goblin be switched from the Chrysler Building to the Empire State.

The producers refused, and heated words were slung from both sides. Now the lights will shine for the movie,The Amazing Spider-Man, and Broadway is claiming a superhero victory.

Everyone is “truly touched and honoured that the Empire State Building has decided to bury the hatchet and, at last, give New York’s favourite superhero his due,” said show spokesman Rick Miramontez.
