Ekta Kapoor's lucky mascot Vidya Balan does a cameo for 'Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai Dobara'

There have been talks about Vidya Balan distancing herself from Ekta Kapoor because she skipped her iftaar party for her film Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai Dobara (OUATIMD) last week. Truth is that the actress is actually part of the film.

The actress, who is married to UTV’s Siddharth Roy Kapoor (co-producer of Chennai Express), will be seen in a brief appearance shot in Ekta’s film.

Says a source, “Ekta and Vidya go back to the days when she was acting in Hum Paanch. That association was revived with The Dirty Picture. Ekta has been open about her fondness for the actress and is even co-producing her next along with Shaadi Ke Side Effects.

What Kajol is to Karan Johar (he always has a passing shot of her in all his films) Vidya is to Ekta. She wanted Vidya to feature in her latest release. When Ekta suggested it to her, VB immediately agreed.

They shot with her in Film City two months ago and she is a part of a song sequence. Vidya wil be seen wearing a burqa.

Tanuj Garg from Balaji confirms, “Vidya is like family to us and agreed to making a friendly appearance in OUATIMD immediately when she was approached. We can’t reveal which song as yet as that’s meant to be a surprise.”
