'Dolly Ki Doli' box office collection: Sonam Kapoor starrer opens to a poor response!

Sonam Kapoor's the hero of the film. Driving the film ahead on her own shoulders, much like she did with her previous films- Ranjhanaa and Khoobsurat, Sonam Kapoor was expected to take her Doli forward with ease. But fate sometimes does turn tables around!

DKD was appreciated for its fluffy commercial context and its pleasurable performances yet the film failed to get an audience connect. The film opened to a rather poor response, netting in around only Rs 2.55 crore on its opening day, which is a miniscule amount, considering this is Sonam's film. Although Sonam's film do not bring in bombastic numbers but they do have a decent opening and the same was expected from DKD.

Releasing with Akshay Kumar's Baby hindered its growth at the box office. While Baby has got the star power coupled with its critical acclaim which is benefiting its collections, DKD on the other has faced a major low down in terms of its collections. Baby has released in almost more than double the number of screens that DKD released in and the clash has adversely affected the Arbaaz Khan film. 

Now, it needs to be seen if the film enjoys any growth over the weekends and whether it manages to put up a decent three day total at the box office.
