Instagram is possibly one of the best social networking sites for any actor to connect with their fans. With images giving the fans a window to their day-to-day activities, Bollywood stars too keep posting pictures every day. While Amitabh Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan, and Salman Khan led the pack on Twitter with the highest number of followers, we wonder if it's the same way round on Instagram too.
Shahid Kapoor just crossed the 6 million mark and we thought of listing the top 10 Bollywood stars with the highest Instagram followers. Deepika Padukone, Priyanka Chopra, Akshay Kumar, Salman Khan or Shah Rukh Khan? Who will win this round? Take a look.
Standing at no.1 position is Deepika with 11.3 million followers. Following her closely at the second spot is her contemporary and Bajirao Mastani co-star Priyanka Chopra with 10.4 million followers. Surprise, surprise! At no.3, it's Shraddha Kapoor with 9.3 million followers and Alia Bhatt chips in at no. 4 with 8.9 million. Sonam Kapoor, who's known for her dressing sense is an Instagram favourite and she stands tall at the 5th position with 7.1 million followers.
Shockingly, none of the big superstar actors even stand a chance in the top 5. Following Sonam is Akshay Kumar who has around 6.8 million fans following him on Insta. Then at the 7th spot, there is a tie between Shahid Kapoor and Parineeti Chopra who have just reached the 6 million mark on Instagram. Salman Khan occupies the 8th position with 5.9 million followers whereas his Sultan co-star Anushka Sharma is really close with 5.8 million followers and occupies the 9th position. And 10th on the list is Varun Dhawan who has around 5.3 million followers.
So, in the list of top 10, there's no Shah Rukh Khan, Amitabh Bachchan, Ajay Devgn or Aamir Khan. Although these superstars are strong on Twitter and Facebook, the younger lot is more Instagram friendly.
