Closer or Doosra Aadmi: Which film is 'Ae Dil Hai Mushkil' similar to?

Ranbir Kapoor - Anushka Sharma - Aishwarya Rai Bachchan - Fawad Khan starrer Ae Dil Hai Mushkil teaser is finally out. And it's breathtaking. We have simple loved the 93 second teaser but it does raise a big question. 

The question has popped up several times in the last few months. Is Ae Dil Hai Mushkil an adapted screenplay? Director Karan Johar has refuted all such reports but from the first look of it now, it definitely seems a lot similar to two films. One Hindi and another Hollywood  film. 

While on the Bollywood front, the ADHM teaser reminds you of Doosra Aadmi where Rishi Kapoor played the central lead opposite Neetu Singh and Raakhee, here Ranbir has apparently stepped into his role. Doosra Aadmi is about a married couple and how the guy falls for another woman, who thinks he's similar to her deceased husband. What happens to their individual love stories is what forms the crux of the story. 

On the other hand, you have Closer, starring Julia Roberts, Natalie Portman, Jude Law and Clive Owen. It's a complex romantic drama about four individuals and how their lives interwind. Ae Dil Hai Mushkil teaser too spells big on love, despair, angst, heartbreak and deceit. 

ADHM too seems like yet another complex love story told in a much more simplistic manner, thanks to Karan Johar.
