Cartoon Network unveils first look of the revamped 'Powerpuff Girls' series

According to Cartoon Network's recent update, the revamped series are slated for a 2016 release.

The revamped version of Powerpuff Girls is here, and their first looks have been unveiled by Cartoon Network.

The new avatars certainly do not have any major changes, except for the voiceovers. 

According to Cartoon Network's tweets, actress Amanda Leighton will voice Blossom, Kristen Li will voice Bubbles, Natalie Palamides will take on Buttercup.

Amanda Leighton is known for her roles in The Fosters and Pretty Little Liars. 

The announcement to bring back Powerpuff Girls was made in June 2014. According to Cartoon Network's recent update, the revamped series are slated for a 2016 release. Nick Jennings, best known for his work on Nickelodeon's Spongebob Squarepants, hsa been roped in to direct the series.

The previous series aired between 1998 and 2004 telecasting as many as 78 episodes. It even won four Primetime Emmy Awards.
