For fans of the Star Wars universe, Brian Kesinger isn’t a stranger. Kesinger is an artist, who works for Disney, but does independent mash-ups where he adds a ‘Calvin  & Hobbes’ feel to the Star Wars universe.

His favourite subjects are Kylo Ren, the villain from Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens, and his grandfather Darth Vader. While Kylo is drawn like Calvin, Vader is the Hobbes of the series.

Kesinger usually puts his work on sale and has fans from all over the world. Last year, the cartoonist received a call from Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, who commissioned a drawing from him of his family in their Halloween costumes. Trudeau had dressed as the pilot from The Little Prince, while his youngest son dressed as the Prince. Trudeau’s other children went as the Joker and a witch, while his wife, Sophie Trudeau, wore a spooky black dress.

Trudeau had asked Kesinger how much the print would cost to which Kesinger said that all he wanted was a picture of Trudeau holding it if he liked it. “I received this photo in the mail today... I guess he liked it!!! They informed me it's now hanging in his office," Kesinger wrote on his Facebook page early Thursday. The post has since been shared over 200 times and liked on both Facebook and Instagram.
