On its Day one, Befikre has seen footfalls on the expected lines. The film was set to take a double digit opening and this is what happened as the collections came to 10.36 crore. Of course a little more would have helped and anything in 11-12 crore range was something that would helped the film gain an even better platform. Nonetheless, considering the fact that the film is collecting primarily from the multiplexes, one waits to see how much further does it grow on Saturday and Sunday.

That said, the film is still yet another Ranveer Singh film that has taken a double digit opening, which demonstrates his consistency at the Box Office. Opening day numbers of major films starring Ranveer Singh are as below:

Gunday - 15.86 crore
Ram Leela - 15.73 crore
Bajirao Mastani - 12.8 crore
Dil Dhadakne Do - 10.5 crore
Befikre - 10.36 crore
Kill Dil - 6.5 crore

Amongst these, Ram Leela had scored a century [118.7 crore] and Bajirao Mastani [188 crore] had fallen just short of a double century in the long run. Another common factor amongst these films was the presence of Deepika Padukone as the leading lady and Sanjay Leela Bhansali as the director, which made it a lethal combination. These films are clearly out of the reach for Befikre.

Gunday had opened to a fantabulous number, though it couldn't quite carry on similar momentum in the long run as its lifetime ended at 78 crore. Dil Dhadakne Do too did similar business and ended at 78 crore. Kill Dil was a flop though at 35 crore.

Now for Befikre, the word of mouth is mixed and as expected, it is only the youth which could still give it some sort of patronage. It would be very crucial for the film to stay stable during the weekend (which it should) and then not take a fall during the weekdays (for which it is going to be a wait and watch approach).

Still, the fact remains that Ranveer Singh has enjoyed yet another film of his to get a good opening and that too on select count of screens (2100). He has managed to build a fan base for himself and now it has to be seen if this very target audience helps the film to enjoy a good run too.
