Bollywood choreographer Shiamak Davar has responded to the allegation made by his former dance dance students Percy Shroff and Jimmy Mistry.

According to an NDTV report, the choreographer refuted the allegations in a statement. "I'm shocked by these allegations and deny them completely. I will not be intimidated into silence and will defend myself vigorously in court," he said.

He also added, "Even though I'm extremely anxious to speak the truth, I have been advised not to do so publicly by my lawyer, David Crossin, as this matter is now before the court."

Shroff and Mistry of North Vancouver, Canada, allege that they were subjected to years of sexual abuse by Davar. Both Shroff and Mistry have filed separate lawsuits against Shiamak in the British Columbia Supreme Court in Canada.

Shroff and Mistry also allege that they were initiated into a sect called the VRRP Spiritual Learning and that Davar misused his position of authority.

Davar had said that he had not acted as a personal guru to the two dancers and was not a leader of the sect, but a 'custodian'. In his statement, he said, "It is a privilege and honour for me to continue the work of my spiritual teacher, Khorshed Bhavnagri."

The sect follows the teachings of Khorsheed Bhavnagari, who claims that her sons who died in 1980 communicated with her.

"It is my position, as filed in my response, that these claims are being made by former members of VRRP Spiritual Learning to simply smear Mrs. Bhavnagri's good name and her wonderful book 'The Laws of the Spirit World'. I would like members of VRRP Spiritual Learning to be rest assured that I will continue to serve the book and its teachings." Davar added.
