Bollywood celebrates Diwali, urges fans to remember Kashmir flood victims

As Diwali fever has caught up the Hindi film Industry, celebrities including Anupam Kher, Raveena Tandon have called on their fans to remember the Kashmir flood victims on the auspicious occasion.

Kher, who is a Kashmiri, said, "This Diwali I would like to urge everyone to spare a moment for Kashmir flood victims and remember them in their prayers." Kashmir was hit by unprecedented floods last month in which widespread damage was caused.

'Mohra' star Raveena asked her fans to make donations for the rehabilitation of flood victims in Kashmir and Assam this Diwali.

"My kids love only the more demure firecrackers, phuljari, anar, chakli, besides that they donate the rest of their firecracker money. Your Diwali will only be more blessed! Parts of our country faced floods, calamities, can also donate in those funds," Tandon tweeted. It's a happy time for megastar Amitabh Bachchan on Diwali as his son Abhishek's football team ChennaiyinFC is performing well in the ongoing Indian Super League.

"May all that you wish for the year come in abundance. May the Goddess Laxmi will you with love and all her wealth. May a million lights light up your life," Bachchan posted. Melody queen Lata Mangeshkar tweeted, "Wish you all a very happy Diwali. May God bless you all and fulfil all your wishes."

Aamir Khan, who is gearing up for his upcoming release, says his fitness trainer hasn't given him a break on the Festival of Lights.

"Rakesh, my trainer, is a slave driver. Not only he did not give me an off on Diwali, but also he made me do legs today. Happy Diwali guys. Love," he posted on Twitter.
Some celebrities have urged fans to have fireworks free Diwali.

"I would like to wish all my fans a very Happy Diwali. I abstain from crackers and I would like to urge everyone to do the same," Neha Dhupia said. Actor Rahul Khanna said,"It's the Festival of Lights, not of noise, pollution & burns. Light diyas, not fireworks. Have a peaceful & safe."

Newly- wedded actress Dia Mirza has postponed her honeymoon to celebrate Diwali with family. "I am excited to celebrate Diwali with my family. We will be going for honeymoon during the end," Dia, who married longtime partner Sahil Sangha this month, said.

Wishing his fans on the occasion, actor Vivek Oberoi said,"A very happy and prosperous Diwali. I hope that this festival brings joy in your lives."
